Brother Cecil Scott was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. His family moved to Michigan and then to Union, Indiana where he attended high school. After graduating, he served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Grafenwohr, Germany for over a year. After the end of his service, he worked in a factory, an underground coal mine and eventually retired as a Mechanic Crew Lead at AK Steel in Illinois. He and his wife Patricia have three daughters and five grandchildren. Cecil enjoys planting flowers and growing blackberries. He is an avid mushroom hunter and likes woodworking, crafts, travel and shopping for antiques. He is affiliated with Francisco Gospel Ministries in Francisco, Indiana.
Cecil was raised to a Master Mason by his oldest brother Clyde who was Worshipful Master in 1990 with his brother Richard assisting as Senior Warden. All of the other officers that evening were uncles and cousins of Cecil. He served as Worshipful Master in 1998 and afterward served as Secretary of Prince Lodge #231. He was Secretary of the Year in 2009 and was appointed Grand Representative to Norway by Kenneth E. Willis Jr., Grand Master of Masons in Indiana in 2011. He has served as High Priest, Illustrious Master and Eminent Commander in York Rite.
In 1999, Cecil joined Golden Fleece Chapter #176, and has served as Worthy Patron as well as Grand Usher. He accompanied his wife Pat as she served as District Deputy for the "Basket of Dreams" Grand Family in 2009/10 for Sister Patricia Endsley, PGM, and Brother Greg Onken, PGP. In 2003 he was appointed Grand Sentinel for the "Showers of Blessings" Grand Family by Sister Elizabeth Lashley, PGM, and Brother Darrell Arthur, PGP in 2013/14 where he started his journey along side Sister Cindy Skura leading to the "Shining Lights of Faith" Grand Family in 2017/18.
