Eastern Star Scholarship Information
ESTARL Scholarship
The purpose of the “Eastern Star Training Award for Religious Leadership” (ESTARL) is to assist worthy young women and men who wish to devote their lives to God’s Service. It is intended to support students who have graduated from an accredited high school and completed one year of college education, but who are not financially able to obtain the necessary education required in their chosen field of service.
In the selection of candidates, emphasis will be placed on NEED of Financial Assistance, Character, Leadership in Christian Activities, and Citizenship.
Our World of Youth Scholarship
The purpose of this program is to encourage and promote academic scholarships for the young women and young men in our Fraternal Youth Organizations as well as the members of the Order of the Eastern Star in Indiana.
Each year, the Worthy Grand Matron of Indiana appoints a State Chair and District Chairs to the Our World of Youth Committee to raise funds to be awarded to eligible students as determined by the Scholarship Awards Committee.
Applications must be submitted before the deadline as determined by the Scholarship Awards Committee. The Scholarship Awards Committee will then meet to decide eligibility of the applicants and the amount of the awards based on funds available. Those selected for a scholarship award will be notified by mail to their address as shown on the application and they will be announced at the Grand Chapter Session held in June.
Nettie Ransoford Scholarship
This scholarship is given in honor of Nettie Ransford, who was one of the founders of the Order of the Eastern Star in Indiana. She was a pioneer in many Indiana and world-wide projects. This $1000 scholarship is funded by donations from members and chapters throughout the state and is available each year to a qualifying THIRD or FOURTH year student pursuing a degree in Special Education.
